This highly successful website was developed by Pictas Online to serve as an online community for parents and children. Through it mothers, children, suppliers and professionals, are linked into the same portal and constantly interacting with each other in many unique and powerful ways.

It’s social.

Mothers receive support from other mothers. They share their stories and challenges, their successes and their heartaches. Kids meet other kids their age and share their interests, what they are learning in school and at home. They even participate in contents and events to win prizes and opportunities. One of these contests is the START OF STAR event we organized, which aims at discovering modeling potential at an early age. Moms can post pictures of their kids for the community to vote on and win prizes. Every month the overall winner is picked from the different age groups to be professionally photographed. So far over 150 children have been awarded prizes and 50 kids have had their pictures taken by photographer Alexandra Sandu - www.alexunu.ro. Already we are seeing some of the winners using this as a chance to explore careers in modeling for fashion and advertising.

In addition to the START OF STAR contest, the VIDEO STAR event allows children to demonstrate their talents as performers, singers, dancers, etc. and gives parents the chance to celebrate the many talents of not only their own children, but of all the kids in the community.

It’s an interactive marketplace and learning center.

In addition to the social connection, families have access to the latest information and products on childcare from companies and professionals who are in turn able to innovate and modify their services based on a real-time discussion. The information is accessible in several different ways:

  • Through the Online Store parents and kids can shop for products directly from the supplier.
  • In the Articles section families can read and comment on a huge amount of material written by professionals and other families.
  • The Portal is where the connection happens between the families, suppliers, nurseries, schools, nannies, and healthcare providers.
  • The Day Program is a constantly updated page with events in different cities, theatres, museums and parks to nurture the community offline and face to face.
